Ouborg’s brilliant Figuur in cirkel [Figure in circle] personifies the group of lyrical abstract works, a partial collection which for years formed the focus of the Dordrecht Museum’s collection policy and which makes the museum so distinctive. In addition to works by Ouborg, works by Eugène Brands, Ger Lataster and Gerard Verdijk, among others, have also been included. This cluster is mainly highlights the artist’s individual signature, 'pure painting', and the power of pure form and colour.
